Evaluation
I decided to use:
- YouTube
- Google hangouts
- Snapchat
I created different forms of media to promote the apps, using the apps. I decided to look at the 2015 election and created a video for YouTube, an event on Facebook, collected images on Instagram, Tweeted and started a debate on who should win. For google hangouts I discussed with my class mates who should win and why, we communicated through hangouts in the same room. For snap chat I was not successful in asking my audience questions so therefore I promoted the app by showing what you can do with it.
Overall I think that my YouTube video was most successful as was able to gain hits and reach a wider audience. It was the most creative way of expressing myself out of all the apps.
The target audience for my campaign were people of the age of 18 who are able to vote, men and women who may not be sure who they are going to vote for. The apps were created to reach a wide audience and give people a better insight into who they should vote for.
My website is easy for people to navigate because I have arranged my home page with the menu bar at the top so that you can click on each of the pages, labeled with the app name. There are icons and colours used on each page that match the app so the user can easily see what page they are on. Images, videos and minimal text have been used to go with the simple theme of the website. There are no effects on the site, just simple transitions to the next page. I wanted my site to be all about the apps, not some flashy site.
I am most pleased with my YouTube video and the ease of navigation of my site. I could improve on my content by showing off every aspect of each app.
