The font of the whole magazine will be the same font in many parts some may be different , if the are headers or small titles, the design will be spaced out so information is easy to find without having to do a lot of reading, and loads of images for the reader so they are constantly entertained.

This will be my main page background, the colour blue is very deep so it will keep a reader more in tune with what they are reading. The title is main brand name and also the main colour scheme will work with my main image.

Adobe InDesign is the central component of the workflow. Also design teams create layouts and add interactivity. Adobe InDesign is a software we're you can create layouts and add metadata and also publish.

Stage one: Digital publishing suite you have to install the lastest version of DPS, thats from installation links to it on desktops and installing adobe content viewer on other devices if needed.

Produce two case studies on digital magazine publishers
MacLife & NationalGeographic
  • What magazines, both print and digital do they publish?
  • Mac-life & national geographic both digital magazines and they publish a strong in-site in both their business, mac-life publishes how much an apple product can make your lifestyle and your attitude towards doing things different. also shows you each and every information about apps, downloads, etc. Furthermore they help publish other business and company on their site and also promote many different advertisements to do with games, books, videos, reviews, galleries and many other things. I can also say they promote new products by publishing it with deals readers want and need and content that would attract readers.
  • On the other hand NationalGeographic do something similar but more organised and professional i say this because they publish information for readers who are more into exciting and interesting content to do  with the worlds wild-life and environment . Also the publish stuff for other website subscribers and they have many side hyperlinks to do with videos, photography, animals, travel etc. I can also say they publish other magazines on their site to boost other magazines & national geographic has published almost every platform making it easy for the readers.
  • What other creative work do they create? apps, branding etc?
  • Mac-life have been already creating creative features for their company, i can back this up by saying if you go on the magazine you see all the apps they have created with apple and apple products. The branding for mac life is well known with the apple logo. Also there branding deals with offers whats hot and whats not other products the have out that are better than other companies devices , basically the magazine tells you how not just to upgrade your devices but to upgrade your lifestyle hens then name "Mac-life".
  • National Geographic have apps for readers that can keep up with the website so they can keep updated and on track with any information they missed out on , also their branding is very well branched all across the world by apps, books, internet, and TV.
  • What is their approach to publishing?
  • Mac-life's approach to publishing is through putting up products of apple items in the magazine and letting the reader know how they can get a hold of it , also publishing separate sections about an item if more than one person find fix something there tutorials in how to do step by step. I would say there approach to publishing is very strong in terms of them branching out to many other countries, companies and other small time businesses.
  • where as national geographic approach to publishing is very powerful as you can see by the name 'national' it crosses many counties towns and cities spreading their information, their approach to it is very outgoing an detailed .
  • "Award-winning MAC LIFE was launched in 1996 as the ultimate hands-on guide"
  • Have they won any awards?
  • "National Geographic magazine is, perhaps, the world’s most renowned source of stunning photography, captivating infographics and original illustrations. "
  • They have won such awards like National Magazine Awards for best tablet edition and best multimedia feature on Thursday. And also they have a national magazine awards, this would show their readers that many people support national geographic and what they do, so it would attract more readers because they would trust the word of other readers.
  • They we're also finalist for general excellence, photography, website, multimedia, and tablet magazine. .
  • It is the only magazine for Mac enthusiasts and professionals, offering its readers a complete multimedia experience.
  • They haven't got many awards but they have achieved many prizes and outstanding ovation.
  • How would you summarise them? (you are looking at the business side of publishing here)
  • In this final statement i would summarise mac & national geographic as very well step up businesses because they both branch out not only as a magazine but as individual companies that publish information that readers want . Also they both save money because they never have to print out but just upload text, images and sources for readers. Furthermore mac-life way of business when it comes to publishing is that they put their products and items on the magazine so when a reader see something they would be interested and want they out more willing to buy the item, because the magazine gives such good content in detail they can trust.
